Dominion Energy Innovation Center's DEIC Accelerate program introduced 15 startups to dozens of business units across Dominion Energy in its first two years. In this session, Adam Sledd of DEIC and Michael Beiro of Linebird will discuss how the program creates value for both the utility and the startups.  They will cover how a startup can maximize its opportunity to quickly build customer relationships, and how the utility benefits from creating a formal framework to engage startup companies.

Securing OT on the Bulk Power System: Next-generation Intrusion-tolerant Protective Relays
This session will explain how Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is working with leading grid technology providers, utilities, federal power agencies, and other national laboratories on a project to develop a new solution for fault-tolerant protective relays. The consortium is using the power of machine learning and artificial intelligence to ensure that protective relays on the bulk power system can perform intrusion-tolerant operations. The project began in early 2020, and project participants are validating the performance of the technology.
