Powered by Diversity Luncheon
To purchase a ticket, click here!

Workplace diversity is becoming a more common conversation in the business world and placing a focus on diversity and inclusion should extend farther than the hiring department. Diversity is a range of human differences, including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, social class, physical ability or attributes, religious or ethical values, national origin, veteran status, and political beliefs. Join us for a networking lunch to hear industry leaders speak on the topic of diversity in the workplace and share the best practices they have experienced in this space.

How can we build the new capacities necessary? How will new tools shape new behaviors and drive new expectations? Which old practices to manage risk are actually now putting us at risk? And how will we measure we are doing it right?

What Does It Take for a Utility to be Unified, Intelligent, Secure and Evolvable?
Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) struggled with outdated RTU infrastructure. Substations were equipped with older analog mimic panels, which required constant maintenance and a high level of effort to keep the system functioning. To improve safety, reduce labor, and improve reliability and resiliency, OUC sought to modernize its distribution automation and SCADA environment and move away from traditional RTU's and mimic panels and toward a modern SCADA data gateway and HMI solution. This presentation will illustrate the previous substation situation, the challenges faced with implementing the project, the technology solutions deployed, and the value in benefits yielded with the ongoing project.
